Apple releases official Apple Store app for iPad

Apple finally released an Apple Store app for the iPad this morning, allowing users to shop for goods directly from their tablets. The app is pretty attractive, and touts a gesture-based interface that lets the user pick and compare Apple products and accessories with swipes, pinches, and taps. It also syncs with Apple Maps to find nearby Apple Stores and make appointments at the Genius Bar. One of the more unique features it offers, though, is a “Now Trending” section, which shows off the popular products users are currently shopping for and sharing with friends, including everything from Airport Expresses to speakers.

The app uses a far more minimalist design than its iPhone equivalent.
