Bing image search now lets you filter by animated GIF

The Internet’s (perfectly legitimate) obsession with animated GIFs (pronounced with a hard “G”) continues today with news from Microsoft: Bing users can now search specifically for animated GIFs.

This absolutely essential addition mirrors Google’s own GIF filters, which launched over a year ago.

Now that both the #1 and #2 search engines cater to GIF fans, what will become of specialized search engines like Giphy? Apparently the market is big enough to support a diverse GIF ecosystem, as Giphy’s growth rate looks pretty strong to date.
