First look at the new keyboards, dock, and other Surface accessories

For some unfathomable reason, Microsoft’s official PR shot puts the cyan keyboard on top instead of the far superior purple one. Microsoft In addition to its pair of new tablets, Microsoft announced today a bunch of new accessories for its Surface range. The first generation Surface had two kinds of keyboard covers. There were the touch-sensitive ultra thin Touch Covers, available in a variety of colors, and the mechanical Type Covers, available only in black. Both kinds of keyboard have been refreshed and updated. They’re both now backlit, with a proximity sensor that disables the backlight if you move your hands away for a few moments.
